The purpose of the TRAINING SESSIONS (Level #3 and #4) is to integrate strokes, serves, server returns, footwork, and tactical aspects into a game situation. This is the transition from straight drill practice to point play. It is assumed that all of the basic strokes have been learned, not mastered. TRAINING SESSIONS are designed for players to select a GAME STYLE. Particular serves, serve returns, strokes and strategies are appropriate to each GAME STYLE. At the end of TRAINING SESSIONS, players may not be hitting at 70%, but they will be clear on what stroke they SHOULD be hitting, over 90% of the time. TRAINING SESSIONS are extremely popular and players need to sign up in advance to get a spot.

These TRAINING SESSIONS are designed for players at the Intermediate through Advanced level (from ~1200 – 2000 USATT rating points).Due to the large number of up and coming students at the Ambridge Table Tennis Club, we have expanded the top end of our coaching program. This coaching program will consist of no more than 22 players. Each student’s drills will be custom made for their own individual game. Each student will be given 6 focus points to work on (i.e. Fh loop vs chop, Bh hit vs. topspin, etc.) in the six-week series.
These will differ dramatically from the TRAINING SESSIONS #3 and #4, as there will be more emphasis on point-play and specific areas of work. There will be much more of an individual focus on each player’s specific game style. TRAINING SESSIONS will be held on Tuesdays from 5:30-7:00 pm.
