Weekly Tournaments!!!!!!!!!

Round Robin Tournaments

Friday tournaments at the Ambridge are a round robin format – Our Friday night tournaments are based on levels. If you are in the beginning level you will play against players similar to your rating.  The tournaments are round robin which means that you play 4-5 other players on your level. The player with the best record wins the tournament. Winners will receive a gift certificate to a local business.  The cost for tournaments is $5.

Tuesday PRACTICE MATCHES – Round Robin Practice Tournaments

Tuesday PRACTICE MATCHES start at 7 PM – Drop-ins encouraged.

Practice Matches are exactly that, matches where you can practice your tournament game play without the intense fear of losing the match. On Tuesdays at 7 PM the ATTC will conduct several round robin tournaments, based on rating. You can practice your techniques, new serves, footwork, serve return, etc., within the context of a game situation without the fear of losing points or even games. The pressure of winning is off! You may freely play your heart out and take your lowest percentage shots without the fear of losing, why? Because everyone else is doing the same thing…PRACTICING. You may try out new shots, work on rough areas, without fear of defeat; because it’s practice, not official, not rated, not posted.  This is the time to practice you new banana flick, your backhand loop, or your new serves that you’re always afraid to use in an official game or league match. The goal is to build confidence with new techniques that would otherwise take months to achieve within the pressure of an official match.  In the (OCP) Olympic Coaching Program at TTW, Jeff called this training “Play Without Fear” and it was one of the most successful methods for pushing so many players over the Master level in such a short time. The cost is $5 per night. It’s ongoing, so you can just drop in and get into a round robin tournament on any Tuesday.  There will be a small prize for the winners of each division. Again, we want to stress that the real winners are the players that improve their games, not necessarily the players that win the most matches. Good luck, have fun, and improve your tournament game level.
Cost:  $5 per night, or you may pay $30 for two months of PRACTICE MATCHES. That’s every Tuesday for the months of May and June.

It would greatly help if you came in by at least 6:50 PM, or called/text (541.999.0926) to let us know that you will be participating in the Tuesday round robin tournament.  It takes a little preparation time to set up the round robin draws.  Thank you!
