The Portland Inter-Club Team Tournament at the MAC is Saturday, December 3rd. This team tournament will have a limit of 13 teams per division. There will be three divisions. This year’s tournament will be 2-Person team event, played in a Davis Cup Tennis format. Teams play five matches against another team; two singles and one doubles match, per player. The team winning three matches out the of the five matches wins the round and plays the next team. All five matches must be played. The event will be a double elimination tournament with a possible consolation event in each division. So each team will play at least two – three other teams. To win the division a team may need to play 5 to 6 other teams. The tournament will begin at 10 am and finish by 6 pm. The cost of the tournament is $20/person or $40/team.
The tournament site is the beautiful MAC West Gym with high ceiling, great lighting, and wood floors. There will be 9 tournament tables (Donic Persson 25 tables) with one open practice table.
Division 1 Open event Players may have any rating to enter this event; starting time: 10:00 am
Division 2 Under 1500 The team’s combined rating must be under 1500 Rating Central (or under 2100 USATT rating); starting time: 11:30 am
Division 3 Under 800 The team’s combined rating must be under 800 Rating Central (or under 1400 USATT rating); starting time: 1:00 pm
